Underwear should be comfortable for your body and it should be made out of the right material – this is what we’re told as we grow up, this is the type of underwear our moms buy for us, and it’s what we know to be right.
However, as we grow up, underwear becomes more and more sexualized, which is why the standards are a bit off for adult underwear vs kids underwear. Now, as adults, the ‘regular’ type of underwear everyone should be wearing is referred to as ‘period panties’ or something under those lines, and is no longer considered sexy – it’s something you wear when you know you might not get any sexual action with a partner.
But that’s really a wrong approach, especially because, if you ask men, they don’t really care about the underwear the woman is wearing, as long as some other factors are appropriate.
So, today we’re going to discuss the right underwear you should be wearing and we’ll name 5 mistakes most women make. If you’re making some of them, then think twice and look after your health first.
1. Synthetic Lingerie
Sexy lingerie is usually made from materials such as silk, synthetic cloth, faux silk, lace, nets, and whatnot. The skin can’t breathe in those fabrics. Also, if you have sensitive skin, then you might get an irritation down there, and you’re becoming more susceptible to bacterial or yeast infections. So, for your own sake, please consider wearing underwear that allows your skin to breathe.
2. Wrong Detergents
Don’t wash your intimate wear
with the same detergent you use to wash your other clothes – instead,
you should get a detergent that’s mild, that doesn’t have a scent, and
that can be washed off easily. Also, it’s best to use hypoallergenic
detergents to wash your delicates.
3. Sweaty Undies
You private area is naturally moist
and warm, so if you’re also sweating a lot, you might have some
problems. In that case, it’s very important to change your underwear 2
times a day, or even more, if you work out every day. The other possible
scenario is to purchase underwear made from moisture-wicking material.
4. Not Going “Commando” At Night
Most scientists and
specialists advise everyone to sleep naked. That way, all the moisture
will evaporate while you’re sleeping and you’re lowering your risks of
infections and bacteria. Make sure your sheets are clean tho.
5. Shapewear
If you feel uncomfortable in your body,
you might think that shapewear can fix that. But if you’re wearing
shapewear every day, then you’re risking your health just for the sake
of appearance. Tummy-hip slimming underwear or waist-cinching corsets
can cause blood circulation issues if worn regularly. Having said that,
please, don’t make a habit out of wearing your shapewear. Keep it for
special occasions only.
